A: During your first session, we will briefly discuss your history and information regarding your family of origin. This will help me understand the influences and experiences that have influenced you and may have contributed to your challenges that brought you to therapy, as well as your strengths.
A: Many clients attend once per week initially; sessions are 60 minutes long, and we can discuss the frequency of sessions that would be most effective for you as a client.
A: I use various styles, including Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Solution Focused (SFT) Therapies and humanistic approaches. My therapy is also informed by Positive Psychology. In my work with couples, I utilize the Gottman Approach. I will also blend elements from different styles in which I am trained to create a personalized treatment plan.
A: I have experience treating diverse psychological issues and am an active member of The College of Alberta Psychologists. I stay updated with field advancements and consult with colleagues on complex cases.
A: The duration varies based on the nature of the problem, ranging from a few months for less complex issues to years for more complex problems. My commitment is to deliver effective treatment for as long as it takes to reach your goals.
A: Absolutely. I uphold the highest standards of professional conduct and am open to discussing my professional history, including any past therapy they may have undergone. I believe this brings a unique perspective and depth to their practice.
